Cartonería Concert Series: Celebrate Mexican cultural heritage with a vibrant fusion of music
Join us in the La Cartonería Mexicana / The Mexican Art of Paper and Paste exhibition for an in-gallery concerts featuring:
- Las Flores del Valle | Sunday, September 1, 2024, 1:00p & 2:00p (in gallery)
- Mariachi Euforia | Saturday, September 21, 2024, 2:30p-3:00p (concert presented in conjunction with Extravaganza on Museum Hill programming)
Free First Sunday admission for New Mexico residents.
The concert series is generously supported by the Friends of Folk Art (FOFA).
Carol Vigil and Leila Flores-Dueñas have been making music together for more than 20 years at venues that range from the Gene Autry Theatre in Los Angeles, the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Museum of National Folk Art, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, historical conferences, universities, public school classrooms, and an array of other venues. Whether they are singing for large audiences or private guests, they are sure to deliver smooth harmonies and thoughtful tunes with passion and heartfelt joy. “Las Flores del Valle” also enjoy researching and performing songs that have formed part of our rich cultural heritage in the US/Mexican Borderlands.
