This is the first exhibition MOIFA has presented with work chosen staff. Thirth four staff members from six departments and two foundations selected artworks from the museum’s permanent collection for a variety of reasons: from memorable past exhibitions, bringing awareness to a topic they are passionate about, a personal connection, or a work of art that simply sparks joy. The exhibition showcases 70 artworks from 26 countries and includes 38 recognized artists.

Staff Picks: Favorites from the Collection features objects that were selected by members of the Museum of International Folk Art (MOIFA) staff.
The exhibition showcases 70 artworks from 26 countries and includes 38 recognized artists. Thirty four staff members from six departments and two foundations selected artworks from the museum’s permanent collection for a variety of reasons: from memorable past exhibitions, bringing awareness to a topic they are passionate about, a personal connection, or a work of art that simply sparks joy.

The selections highlight the diversity of the museum’s collection and present the perspectives of staff through their favorite works.. Staff made their selections by touring museum storage, researching work in the collection, picking pieces from previous exhibitions, or choosing from a geographic area.
